Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This dataset represents the geographic boundaries of Albemarle County's Comprehensive Plan Areas. These areas include: Neighborhoods 1-7 which surround the City of Charlottesville; the Village of Rivanna which contains the Glenmore subdivision; the Communities of Piney Mtn, Hollymead which lie along Route 29 North; the Community of Crozet; and Rural Areas 1-4 which comprise the rest of the County's land area. These Comprehensive Plan Areas are described in detail in the County's Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is Albemarle County's most important document regarding growth, development and change. It establishes government policy to help guide public and private activities as they relate to land use and resource utilization. It is the basis for land development regulations and decisions (rezonings, special use permits), capital improvements (public projects such as schools, parks, libraries), transportation, environmental and historic resource protection initiatives, new county programs and decisions on the distribution of county budget dollars to a multitude of programs and agencies.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>REV_DATE is a field to indicate when a Comprehensive Plan Boundary has been updated. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Comprehensive Plan changes to add Whittington and Mosby Mountain occurred on June 10, 2015. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Comprehensive Plan changes to add section near parcel 75-48 occurred on September 23, 2015. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Comprehensive Plan changes to modify the Pantops boundary to more accurately include portions of the Hyland Ridge subdivision occurred on June 19, 2019 with the adoption of the Pantops Master Plan Update.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
